Somatic Therapy

Your ability to heal depends on your capacity to be present in your body.

Trauma makes us believe threat is everywhere because the body is remembering and expecting it. We constrict and feel threat. And this happens even when there is no outside threat. It arises from inside. Somatic practice gives
you a taste of what safety and freedom feel like.

Somatic Therapy

Somatic therapy is a form of therapy that focuses on the mind-body connection to help process traumatic memories and remediate the effects of trauma, stress, and other emotional issues. Through this approach, the therapist works with you individually to explore how physical sensations, movement patterns, and posture can help identify unprocessed trauma, influence emotions and overall well-being.

By integrating body and breath awareness into the therapeutic process together with neuro-sensory and somatic exercises, somatic therapy promotes deep healing, resilience, and personal growth.  You will explore how safety already lives inside of you and learn how to begin dis-identifying with your patterns so you can be a better support for yourself and the parts of you that seek the safety.

“In order to change, people need to become aware of their sensations and the way that their bodies interact with the world around them. Physical self-awareness is the first step in releasing the tyranny of the past.”
